Max Levine Ensemble

The Max Levine Ensemble are from Washington DC. They have a lot of members and have lost a few over time but some of them include: Spoonboy who does most of the singing/song writing and guitar playing, Bepstein who plays tha bass and sings and write some too, Matt lewis plays the drums and sings a little and so does Nick Popivicci. Regi used to play the bass and is on record doing it. Alex plays the horn and sings some too. Needless to say, I love this band. They play pop-punk. Yes!, pop-punk. The lyrics are mostly politically with some sillyness and some covers. There is a little bit of SKA too.

Operation: Cliff Clavin broke up in 1999. Since then they have occasionally played shows and toured 2 times just for fun, In 2004, there drummer Frankie came home for x-mas and the idea of a tour came up. Somehow the idea of a benefit split 7″ came up and then the idea of a co-operative release. This record was released by 60 different people. It was an effort to express the co-op nature of the DIY scene and get everyone involved. There were a lot of problems with this record on the Operation: Cliff Clavin end. After lost masters, drum tracks getting eaten by the computer and the plant sending the wrong test pressing, here it is. all new songs by each band, cool colored vinyl, a sticker and insert. This is a benefit for the BLOOMINGTON BIKE PROJECT. All profits (100%) go to them.
