Defiance Ohio were once from Ohio, not Defiance Ohio. Now they live in Bloomington. most of them do anyway. Ryan woods (ex - Short Millie, Momento Mori, Cobra Kia) plays the upright acoustic bass. Geoff Hing plays guitar, Sherri plays cello and banjo, BZ plays the violin and Will and or Theo zumm plays the drums and or guitar. They have a self relesed full length, “Share What You Got” on CD, with the LP version released on Friends And Relatives Records. They have a split 7″ with One Reason on Anti-Creative records and a NEW full length on CD/LP on No Idea records. They tour a lot.
The two bands play 5 songs each with folky instruments, like acoustic guitars, harmonicas, violins, upright bass, etc. call them folk punk, or just call them stripped down punk rock bands. Defiance, Ohio present 4 new songs plus a Gorilla Biscuits cover. Ghost Mice present 4 new songs plus a Woody Guthrie cover.

This is the second full length by Ghost Mice. Ghost Mice is Chris on guitar, Hannah Jones on violin and Pascaloo Benvenuiti on many small intruments. This album is an attempt at something that hasn’t been done very much in the DIY punk scene. It’s a concept album. All of the songs are about the trip that Hannah and Chris took to europe in the summer of 2000. It was not a tour, it was a traveling trip. they stayed for 90 days. Didn’t have enough money. Didn’t know anyone in Europe. Needless to say the trip was really hard and they learned a lot about life. There is one song about each country and one song about each body of water they crossed by boat, for a total of 11 songs ( 36mins ). All of the songs fit together to tell the whole story of the trip. The lyrics don’t always give a play by play (day by day) description of the trip but always relate to the countries they were in or how they felt in those countries. This is also Pascaloo’s first apperance on a Ghost Mice recording.
( Pascaloo is from France, they met him on their first tour there ). This CD is also enhanced and has CDROM files including 198 photos that took on the trip and a bunch of somewhat random MP3’s ( Including Totally Michael and some Ghost Mice demos).

This is a sample of what Plan-It-X Records is about. 30 songs. At least 10 of these songs are pretty rare and a good few of those will only appear on this comp. This is like a welcome kit to Plan-It-X Records. If you haven’t heard any of the bands on Plan-It-X Records, start here. It’s cheap too.
